Designing Through Light: Spaces That Are Felt

In any interior design project, light plays a fundamental role. It shapes how spaces are organised, how they are experienced and how they are lived. Designing through light means understanding it as an element that structures, accompanies and gives meaning to the whole — whether natural or artificial.

At L’ATELIER Interiorismo, we always approach light in relation to how a space is used and the experience it is meant to create. This perspective is also deeply present in our showroom, conceived as a working and experimentation space where every piece helps anticipate how future projects will be lived.

Natural Light and Spatial Experience

At Caleta Suites, the apartments open outwards through expansive glazing that allows natural light to accompany the interiors throughout the day. In the evening, the atmosphere is completed with warm and carefully curated interior lighting that reinforces a sense of calm and comfort.

In the Boardroom at Golf Costa Adeje, generous windows maximise the entry of natural light and establish a direct connection with the surrounding landscape. Light here contributes to creating a balanced and serene environment, appropriate for a meeting space where clarity and focus are essential.

Artificial Lighting and the Creation of Atmosphere

When natural light fades or is insufficient, artificial lighting becomes decisive.

At El Rincón del Arroz, the illuminated mural by Bover, positioned on the back wall of the restaurant, integrates with ceiling lines and pendant luminaires to introduce warmth and reinforce the Mediterranean essence of the space.

In the Man Cave at AEDAS Singulare, luminaires by Aromas del Campo are precisely integrated to generate an intimate and functional setting, where light enhances a feeling of warmth, balance and understated elegance.

At Hotel Hovima Costa Adeje, light plays a key role in how communal and wellness areas are perceived. In the spa, soft and polychromatic lighting accompanies circulation routes and adapts to each zone, reinforcing a sense of rest and disconnection, fully aligned with the overall hotel experience.

At Hovima La Pinta, light becomes a fundamental design tool within a project conceived around a child-centred universe. Different lighting points enhance comfort and create environments where younger guests feel central, while maintaining coherence and balance within the overall design.

Light as an Organising Element

Designing through light means understanding how it influences layout decisions, spatial use and atmosphere across very different typologies — hotels, private residences, restaurants and workspaces. Light acts as a guiding thread, organising the whole and defining how a space is ultimately felt.

It is not about imposing solutions, but about listening to what each project requires and allowing light to lead the way.
